Pods have four prominent, lengthwise ridges. Originally from southeast Asia, the plant is cultivated in that region today. Plants are very similar to regular bean plants and though they are annual, succeed best in warmer climates. This species will not flower when daylight exceeds 12 hours, so it is best grow in areas with a long season or warmer winter. #2763
